Extra concept style frames from a game format that never made it to production. The frames had to be of the standard 1920 x 1080 dimensions and adapted for a cutdown version for Instagram Stories.

Created while freelancing at The Swoon.

Direction 1 / Mixed Media

These frames were primarily inspired by the Korean graphic design style, with the bold type, mixed textures, and pops of color.

Direction 2 / Mixed Media

This approach was more minimal and focused on the critical elements of the game format rather than the talent. In addition, this build considered flexibility for other game formats, using color as a distinctive marker and the layout enabling the key elements to be easily changed out.

Direction 3 / Quirky

Inspired by the RDJ cover, I loved using the circle as a focal point in this composition. It provided a unique container for any variety show, making it customizable. The polygraph line running through the title treatment is an example of an element that can distinguish between different show titles. The color blocks also help with secondary title cards and inform a system.

Direction 4 / Quirky

This frame is a crossover with the third approach of having a crime noir frame with a quirky touch. It plays with drama and comedic exaggeration, an essential component of Korean YouTube channels. This dark noir theme could be lightened and taken in a more playful tone with how itโ€™s animated and the use of sound effects, like cameras clicking.

Direction 4 / Crime Noir

For practical applications, I did consider an alternate title treatment (see portrait) where the show title isn't integrated into the sign. (If this repeatable had a show title with a long name.)
